Pr. Lamia CHAARI

BIOGRAPHY:

Currently, Prof.Lamia Chaari serves as a Professor at the Computer Science and Multimedia Higher Institute at Sfax University, Tunisia, and as a researcher at the Digital Research Center of Sfax (CRNS), where she leads a research team at the Laboratory of Signals, Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Networks (SM@RTS).
Her research spans digital telecommunication networks, 5G/6G, IoT, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on emerging technologies like unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks (SAGIN). She has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and 150 conference papers, and she is actively engaged in applying generative AI and large language models toward public safety and other innovative applications.
In addition to her research, she has a strong commitment to mentorship and leadership. She has successfully supervised 23 defended PhD theses and 34 master’s theses, guiding students in their academic and professional development.

Pr. Leila Mekacher

BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Leila Mekacher is a passionate engineer, entrepreneur, Head of Digital Research and Innovation, STEM ambassador, and founder of the Technological Education Center at the SRH Vocational Training Center (Germany). She is also an adjunct lecturer at the Cooperative State University Mannheim and the University of Applied Labour Studies. Dr. Mekacher studied Electrical and Automation Engineering, earning a Ph.D. in Robotics and Software Engineering. She leverages immersive technologies (Virtual and Mixed Reality) and gamification to advance digital education, work, and inclusion. Through her companies, Innoversa gUG and Innoversa Factory GmbH, she promotes innovative education via VR escape rooms, AI-generated media, interactive 360° VR experiences, and VR simulators for training and career discovery. Additionally, she supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder by involving them in research, development projects, and businesses, providing opportunities in future-oriented technologies.
