Dr. William A. Gruver

BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. William A. Gruver was a highly accomplished academic and professional engineer who voluntarily made extensive contributions to the development of IEEE throughout his long and illustrious career. The focus of his work in both academia and industry was robotics and intelligent manufacturing systems. Bill’s remarkable achievements in these areas were ultimately recognized by the highly prestigious Nobert Wiener Award from the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC) Society. As a highly respected Professor of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University and earlier at the University of Kentucky, Bill and his research team generated leading-edge research results that were presented at a number of IEEE Conferences and published in SMC and IEEE journals. His vast industrial experience in the USA, Germany, and Canada were essential in strengthening IEEE through his encouragement of industry and academia to support IEEE. Dr. Ljiljana Trajkovic

BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from the University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is currently a professor in the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include communication networks and dynamical systems. She served as IEEE Division X Delegate/Director and President of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Dr. Trajkovic serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems and Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Systems Engineering. She is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and System Society and the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and a Fellow of the IEEE. See More…
